- In a pot on the stovetop, add raw chicken breasts and cover with the liquid of choice: bone broth, water or coconut milk. Use about about 4 cups of liquid.
- Bring to a boil and cover with a lid. Turn the heat down to a simmer and cook, covered for about 8-10 minutes until internal temp reaches 150.
- Remove from the heat and allow the chicken to cool. Chicken will continue to cook and should reach an internal temp of 165. If you have a food thermometer you can test it just to be sure.
- When cool, shred the chicken with your hands or a fork.
- At this point, store the chicken in an airtight container or use immediately.
