As much as I love salads, I am surprised that I haven’t shared my vinaigrette recipe with you before. One of the things I have discovered since I have been using a continuous glucose monitor, is that restaurant and store bought salad dressings can ruin an otherwise healthy meal. Blood sugar spikes from sugar laden vinaigrette or salad dressing are real! Store bought salad dressings and most restaurant salad dressings contain lots of added sugar as well as toxic seed oils. It is super simple to create a healthy, flavorful vinaigrette at home. Once you’ve had homemade, you will never need to go back to store bought (and you may even bring your own the next time you have a restaurant salad)! A traditional French vinaigrette calls for 1 tablespoon vinegar for every 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Using this formula, you can get creative and make your own salad dressing.
