I first had dark chocolate dipped strawberries when a friend sent them to my husband and I as an anniversary present. Chocolate and strawberries are such an incredible combination that come strawberry season each year, I like to recreate those first dipped strawberries that we enjoyed so much.
12large ripe strawberrieswash and dry completely before dipping
1/2cupdark chocolate baking chipsI like Lily's or Hu Kitchen (use code NEST to save 15%)
1tspcoconut oil
Instructions
Place the chocolate and coconut oil in the glass bowl over a pan of boiling water (a double boiler) on medium heat. Stir occasionally until chocolate is completely melted and coconut oil is incorporated.
Lay a sheet of parchment paper on a sheet pan. Dip strawberries one at a time in the melted chocolate and place on the parchment paper.
Once you have dipped all of your strawberries, place the sheet pan in the refrigerator until the chocolate hardens.
Enjoy! If you have leftovers, keep them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They won't last long if your strawberries are fresh so plan to enjoy them within a day of dipping.
