Healthy Spiced Cranberry Cherry Sauce Recipe

This spiced cranberry cherry sauce is the perfect accompaniment to your Thanksgiving meal.

- 12 oz package of fresh cranberries
- 10 oz package frozen cherries
- zest of two oranges
- 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice or slices of 2 whole oranges, peeled
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 star anise whole
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon ground
- 1/8 tsp cardamom ground
- 1-2 tsp allulose or monkfruit sweetener as needed
Place cranberries, cherries, orange zest, orange juice or orange slices and spices in a saucepan, over medium heat.
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, then reduce heat to low. Simmer for about 20 minutes, until berries have burst and sauce has thickened.
Taste, and add sweetener if needed.
Remove star anise before serving or storing.
Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve. This flavorful cranberry sauce will keep several weeks in the refrigerator.
